<image:title>Introduction Episode - An introduction to the Choice Wisdom Podcast</image:title>
<image:caption>For more than 25 years of my professional life, I’ve had a passion for communication and connection. My lifelong hobby of “collecting” interesting people inspired me to begin sharing their stories through a podcast. In this episode, I share the story behind Choice Wisdom. Choice Wisdom explores the choices people have made that are creating the life that they want. It is presented in a news magazine format, featuring 2-3 guests in each episode. Their stories are shared with the intent of providing you inspiration to embrace your own gifts and make choices that will transform your life. Along with each new episode, you can listen to a full interview with each of the guest speakers. Choice Wisdom is published every other month. Thank you for listening! —Gayle Goodman Lynch, Host Listen to the introductory episode:</image:caption>

<image:title>Episode 1 - Choosing Better - Episode 1</image:title>
<image:caption>Choosing Better In Episode 1 of Choice Wisdom, we’ll be looking at better choices that three women have made that are creating the life they want. The common theme among the three women featured in this episode is that each has made a choice that aligns with either mind, body or spirit. They each took a different approach to find their own truth, but their stories are connected because one started by retraining her mind, another started by healing her body, and the third took a leap of faith. Guests: Louisa Garrett, Kindness Expert (Full Interview; Website) Sue Chandler, Tapping (EFT) Coach (Full interview; Website) Lynne Marion, Intuitive Life Coach (Full interview; Website) Listen to the Episode 1:</image:caption>

<image:caption>Tapping into your inner wisdom, featuring Sue Chandler Sue Chandler found herself in mid-life struggling with weight loss and ready to find a permanent solution. Sue made the choice to find something new and she found tapping – which is also known as Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT. This set her on the path of healing her body, mind, emotions and spirit. She learned that she wasn’t broken… she was successfully producing an outcome she didn’t want. Tapping changed all of that and eventually created a new career and purpose for her. Sue specializes in unlocking and rewriting the mind/body codes that keep you stuck in unhealthy and limiting patterns. What that means is, she helps remarkable people like you deal with and let go of your past so that you can be fully present, enjoying what is here now! She teaches a science-based, cutting-edge process of letting go of what no longer works and helps her clients create an exciting, inspiring future. She accomplishes this while incorporating fun into everything she does, which not only raises HER vibration, but uplifts all those around her, allowing deep connection, trust, and teaching to occur – resulting in the emotional growth and well-being of all those with whom she has engaged. Sue’s coaching qualifications include having learned all the lessons that come with being born and raised on a farm, having raised 7 children, overcoming a long history of co-dependence, and overcoming her own food addiction. In addition, she is a Certified Advanced FasterEFT/Eutaptics Practitioner, Certified Health & Wellness Coach, & Certified Brittany Watkins Tapping for Weight Loss Practitioner. <image:caption>Choosing to Listen In Episode 2 of Choice Wisdom, we’ll be looking how three men have listened to the wisdom of others to make choices that are creating the life they want. The original theme for this episode was going to be “choosing faith,” because that seemed to be the link among these three guests. And while each of their stories does involve an aspect of faith, the real connection appears to be choosing to listen. One engaged in vocation, one followed a spiritual call and one wrote a book. All are having a positive impact on the world because they listened to suggestions that came from outside themselves. Guests: Fr. Jonathan Melton, Rector of St. James Church (Website) Alex Hemani, CEO of Ninety9 Capital (Website) Dustin Staiger, Author of Blame this Book (Website) Listen to the Episode 2:</image:caption>

Jonathan Melton was called to serve as the 8th Rector of St. James Episcopal Church and School, having previously served for 15 years in a variety of settings, as rector, associate, and university campus minister in both Wisconsin and Texas. An East Dallas native, Fr. Jonathan is a skilled listener, connector, and lover of the Gospel. He dabbles in guitar and stop motion animation, majoring in family life (he and his wife Rebekah are busy raising four kids) and, well, probably just that. But he loves to read, write, and hike, and is always up for coffee with new friends. A lifelong Episcopalian, Fr. Jonathan studied economics at Wheaton College and has an M.Div. with a concentration in Anglican/Episcopal Studies from Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC. You can learn more about Fr. <image:caption>Investing for both purpose and profit, featuring Alex Hemani Alex Hemani is a visionary real estate entrepreneur and CEO of Ninety9 Capital. In 2006, Alex recognized the tremendous income and wealth building potential that could be achieved by amassing and efficiently managing a large portfolio of single-family rentals. Over the years, he has executed thousands of transactions with a combined market capitalization greater than $1 billion and annualized returns exceeding 50%. Just as important as his resume and accomplishments is his commitment to elevating purpose to the same level as profit. Alex built his investment company and designs his funds to help sophisticated investors create generational wealth for their families. This choice followed a call from His Highness the Aga Khan, who, at his Diamond Jubilee, encouraged the Ismali Muslim community who were successful financially to create opportunities to help others achieve similar success. This empowers their culture to work in harmony with their brand, which attracts their best employees and customers. Dustin encountered two transformational points in his life where he identified that he could blame “blame” for the outcomes he experienced. But instead of embracing resentment, he chose to research the concept of blame and how it impacts relationships – especially in workplaces – and write a book about it. Throughout the book, Dustin offers contrarian wisdom that flies in the face of today’s management practices and helps his readers find pragmatic answers to the questions holding them back from being healthier, happier and more profitable. Through this journey, he strengthened his faith – not only in his religious beliefs, but also his faith in himself, his coworkers and humanity-at-large by seeing what was possible. With her bass guitar in hand, playing tunes Gen-Xers loved from their youth – like Pat Benatar, Blondie, and Duran Duran – Jen is the picture of a rock star. Jen’s love of music created a healthy outlet for her outside of a job that has a very serious side – especially on the heels of a worldwide pandemic. In this episode, we explore how each embraced writing and musical talents to help bring joy to others and express who they truly are. In America, we’re fairly obsessed with talent. You only need to tune into any number of reality shows like America’s Got Talent or Dancing with the Stars, or scroll through TikTok or YouTube, to see just how much we celebrate talent in this country. Of course, many of these TV show contestants and TikTok and YouTube creators are looking to become the next big star or influencer. While the guests in this episode of Choice Wisdom are creating a bit of fame for themselves with their talent, what’s more important is that they are doing what they do because it’s part of who they are. We’re sharing these stories to inspire you to look into your own talent and nurture it in a way that lights you up. <image:caption>New Choices Happy new year! We’re almost through the first month of the year. So… how are your new year’s resolutions going? Are you on track to keep them? Did you even make any resolutions? A recent Forbes/One Poll survey asked Americans what resolutions they planned to make for 2024. Not surprisingly, the top five were: Improved fitness; Improved finances; Improved mental health; Weight loss; and Improved diet. There was an interesting finding in this poll compared to the prior year’s results, in that only 20% of people actually believed they’d hold themselves accountable to their New Year’s Resolution. That was compared to 77% the year before. (Clearly, we have a mindset problem and a lack of hope in staying true to our personal goals this year!) Episode 4 explores the choices three guests have made to improve their physical and mental well-being, as well as strategies they have used to maintain those promises to themselves over time. Our hope with this podcast is to help you make positive choices - and stick with them! One of the most notable jobs he’s had was working with racing teams in the NASCAR circuit – which was certainly a sprint of its own. Today Jeff runs his own copywriting and public relations firm specializing in content development campaigns and media outreach. When he’s not pounding the phones landing placements for his clients, Jeff can be found pounding streets and trails near White Rock Lake in East Dallas – where he lives with his wife, Karen, and their two dogs. For Jeff, running is not just a good fitness routine – it’s a way of life. And he’s passionate about sharing his love of running with everyone he meets – which makes his a great story to share on Choice Wisdom, where we’re all about people making choices that are creating the life that they want. This led her on the path to working as an archeologist and anthropologist, working in Central America and studying Mayan culture. Through this work, she became fascinated by what you cannot see in the jungles at first glance, and that led her to apply the same method to people: helping them find the gifts, talents and treasures that lie within each one of us. <image:caption>Investing in Women It’s March already! And that means we’re celebrating the contribution women have made to our history here in the United States during Women’s History Month. This month is also home to International Women’s Day, taking place March 8 across the globe. The United Nations has set their theme for the 2024 International Women’s Day as Invest In Women: Accelerate Progress. They state, “In a world facing multiple crises that are putting immense pressure on communities, achieving gender equality is more vital than ever. Ensuring women’s and girls’ rights across all aspects of life is the only way to secure prosperous and just economies, and a healthy planet for future generations.” UN Women is calling on governments around the world to prioritize gender-responsive financing and to increase public spending on essential services and social protection. UN Women estimates: An additional $360 billion is needed per year to achieve gender equality. Closing gender gaps in employment could boost GDP per capita by 20%. Closing gaps in care and expanding services with decent jobs could spark almost 300 million jobs by 2035. Important within this fact is recognizing the amount of unpaid care work that is done by women. They estimate if this were properly accounted for, it would make up more than 40% of GDP. In this episode of Choice Wisdom, two executive coaches and one creator share their perspectives on what it means to invest in women. <image:caption>Career Choices Remember the Great Resignation of 2021? It was that period of time post-pandemic when people decided to quit their jobs in droves and find more meaning and purpose in their lives. It was quite the story of our times…as if we needed another big, life-changing story following COVID, right?! But it was another big story - CNBC estimated that 43 million people left their jobs that year. It wasn’t just a wave of discontent, it was a tsunami. There have been several theories floated as to why the Great Resignation happened, and many of them point to toxic workplace cultures. Others pointed to a general awakening that people experienced during the lockdowns. When you don’t have the option to go out anywhere and fill your life with distraction, it leaves you just one option. So, self-reflection became the common theme of 2020 and 2021. Each guest in this Choice Wisdom episode made a career pivot into a completely different line of work to follow their passion. Not all of them did this because of the Great Resignation - but their stories are nevertheless inspirational because they point to a soul-deep desire to change the world. And who doesn’t want to do that? Guests: Tom Foley, Founder, T2D Concepts, (Website, LinkedIn) Heidi Carr, Executive Director, Fostering Success Act (Website, LinkedIn) Sanjay Gehani, Partner, CRO & CFO, Building Kidz (Website, LinkedIn) Listen to the Episode 6:</image:caption>

<image:caption>Full Interview: Serving the underserved Heidi Carr is what you would call the picture of a successful corporate career woman. She has worked in a number of roles, primarily in sales and marketing in the home building and automotive industries. A layoff, followed by a health crisis and a death in the family, helped clarify something fundamental for Heidi, and that was – she didn’t want to remain on the corporate stress treadmill. Instead, she wanted to make a difference in the lives of others… beyond simply volunteering outside of work hours. Once she got clear about what she wanted from life, Heidi was able to attract a job that then opened the door to the nonprofit world. Today, she serves as Executive Director of Fostering Success Act, which is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to provide resources and support to young people who are aging out of the foster care system in the state of Georgia. They do this by helping Georgians take advantage of a unique, dollar-for-dollar tax credit on their state income taxes. In this full interview, Heidi shares her wisdom on showing up for others in your life by showing up for yourself first. <image:title>Season 2/Episode 1 - Level Up - Season 2: Episode 1</image:title>
<image:caption>Level Up Season 2 of Choice Wisdom is here! I’m excited to bring you Season 2 of Choice Wisdom! In this kickoff episode, I share a personal story about a series of choices I made which - at the time - didn’t seem so great. But, they led me to a greater truth and to the choice that brought me the greatest blessing I could receive in this life. And it was all thanks to a choice to tip my pitcher. What does that mean, exactly? Think of a pitcher of water that’s filled to the brim. When it’s full, you can’t put any more water into it. But if you tip it over and pour water out, you make space. That’s what happened for me – the situation I share in this episode tipped the pitcher just enough to allow the “new” to come in and since that fateful moment, I have been able to make the space to create life on my terms, aligned to who I truly am. For Season 2 of Choice Wisdom, we’re going to explore stories from people who have also tipped their pitchers and made space for them to level up. That’s this year’s theme – leveling up! Along the lines of setting this level-up intention, I’m making a few changes to the format of the podcast. In addition to the news magazine format I used throughout last year, I will be conducting one-on-one interviews and panel interviews. So, I am going to mix it up a little. And I’m also going to produce more episodes this year and share them with you every three weeks. —Gayle Goodman Lynch, Choice Wisdom Host Listen to the episode:</image:caption>

But as he met with a series of disappointments in life after high school, Max’s freewheeling, party-guy nature took a drastic turn into harder drugs and an addiction he couldn’t seem to shake. As he met with the depth of despair, he looked up and found that Spirit was reaching out with the hand of hope. In choosing to surrender, Max’s life made a dramatic turn for the better. Today, Max is a popular podcaster as host of the Fearless Happyness podcast, where he interviews guests from all around the world, from all walks of life, who overcame serious traumas, addictions, life obstacles and challenges to live the life of their dreams. He’s also a beacon of hope for anyone struggling with addiction, limiting beliefs, self-doubt and self-hate. In this inspiring episode, Max shares his story in getting past the pain into a life of joy. They create a podcast exploring how the simple act of noticing can help us level up and create lives we want. In this episode, MaryAnn Means-Dufrene and Emily McAnelly share the story behind The Great Noticing podcast. Through conversations with amazing guests, they discuss the impact of dismantling old narratives, breaking unhelpful cycles, and living fuller, more rewarding lives. The goal of their podcast is to create a journey together toward greater empowerment, freedom and joy. <image:title>Season 2/Episode 5 - A Better Alternative - Season 2: Episode 5</image:title>
<image:caption>A Better Alternative Featuring: Kelly Ann Winget, Founder & CEO of Alternative Wealth Partners Can you change the world through investing? Since women-owned businesses receive only 2% of PE funding, there's room to do just that. In this episode, Kelly Ann Winget shares her wisdom on investing in alternatives and provides tips for women on how to become savvier investors and attract more funding for their businesses. Alternative Wealth Partners is a Dallas-based private equity company that manages diversified funds of alternative assets. An alternative investment is anything outside traditional assets – which are stocks, bonds and cash. Alternatives cover a broad range assets, such as oil and gas, real estate, crypto, venture investing, private equity, and collectibles, such as stamps or art. Traditionally, private equity has a reputation of being complicated and exclusive. As Kelly explains it, this is because the industry lacks transparency, as well as diversity in the management. Kelly and her team seek to remove these barriers by allowing the public into the alternative investment space by making it understandable and accessible to Main Street investors. <image:title>Season 2/Episode 6 - Replace, Don't Resolve - Season 2: Episode 6</image:title>
<image:caption>Replace, Don’t Resolve Featuring: Gayle Goodman Lynch, host of the Choice Wisdom Podcast For many people, a new year is a great time to make the choice to do one or more things differently than we’ve done before. The “new year, new me” philosophy fuels the new year’s resolution. However, the reality is that the majority of people who make new year’s resolutions only stick with them for about three months. If you made a new year’s resolution this year (or are thinking about making one), I want to share my perspective with you. I believe the process behind making new year’s resolutions has a fundamental flaw, and that is – most of us are already too booked up to add anything else to our plates. Before you dive head-first into making changes big or small in 2025, I invite you to consider what you need to let go of first. The idea is this: before you resolve to do something new, find something you’re already doing that you can replace instead. Like all choices, it’s simple, but making lasting change isn’t always easy. To help you, I’ve created Practically Grounded, a weekly quick-read newsletter that offers practical tips for leveling up your choices for 2025. Subscribe to the Practically Grounded Newsletter here. <image:title>Midlife Explorations - Season 2: Episode 8</image:title>
<image:caption>Midlife Explorations Featuring: Mary Czarnecki, Sairan Aqrwai & Gayle Goodman Lynch As many people approach midlife, they start to think that there may be more to life than the work that they do or the job that they have. By the time we reach our late 40s and into our 50s, especially after the children have left home and are starting their own adventures, it’s almost as if we reach a graduation of sorts ourselves, where we have learned a great deal and we seek to apply our life’s knowledge in service of something more than ourselves. And sometimes that means we outgrow the career that we’ve have for 20, 25, 30 years. This may be why we are seeing so many people today pivoting into coaching in midlife, especially. Or perhaps looking to start another kind of business, sometimes in a field very different from the industry they’ve grown comfortable in. In this episode, Choice Wisdom host Gayle Goodman Lynch is joined by two other coaches who approach this conversation from two different angles. Mary Czarnecki is marketing leader turned full-time business coach, workshop leader and speaker. Sairan Aqrawi still works in a full-time job as an engineer, but on the side she coaches midlife women who are seeking professional and personal growth, particularly those who seek to monetize their passions and skills. Each of them brings a unique perspective to the subject of midlife explorations. If YOU are thinking about starting your own business, make plans to attend Gayle’s free Wantrepreneur Explorations webinar at Noon Central time on Friday, April 11. Whether you are considering taking the leap into business ownership full time or starting gently with a new side gig, this webinar will offer practical things to consider when you are looking to start your own business. <image:title>Season 2/Episode 11 - Quantifying Peace, Part 1 - Season 2: Episode 11</image:title>
<image:caption>Quantifying Peace (Part 1) Featuring: Chelsey Charbeneau, Co-founder & CEO of Breathe Meditation and Wellness and Dr. Claudia Porras Pyland, Associate Professor at Texas Woman’s University and owner of the Transcend Healing psychology practice What’s the “minimum dose” of mediation to achieve a good result? Most studies have only looked at meditating 7 days per week, but a recent study looked at whether you can get a benefit with just 2 or 4 times per week. The results may surprise you… it surprised the researchers! You will hear it here first on Choice Wisdom! In the fall of 2024, Breathe Mediation and Wellness in Dallas teamed up with Texas Women’s University researchers to ask this question: how often do you need to meditate to see the best result? They were looking for the “minimum dosage” of mediation to make a significant impact on a person’s mind and body. This study, which was funded by a grant from the Lichtenstein Foundation, explored qualitative responses of participants, as well as quantitative data. Before the study began, each participant’s brain was scanned at Braincode Centers in Richardson, Texas. Then a group of participants meditated at Breathe’s physical location in Highland Park either two or four times per week. There was also a control group of participants who did not meditate at all during the three-month period in which the study was conducted. In this episode, Chelsey and Claudia share the early study results, as well make the case for not only meditating, but why meditating in a group setting is more beneficial than going it alone. <image:title>Season 2/Episode 12 - Once, with feeling - Season 2: Episode 12</image:title>
<image:caption>Once, with feeling Featuring: Susan Louie, RTT Practictioner Susan Louie is a Rapid Transformational therapist, life coach, clinical hypnotherapist, and recovered corporate high achiever. She works with high-powered executives to offer something uniquely powerful: rapid, lasting transformation that honors both their professional drive and their need for deep, meaningful change. And sometimes, one session with her is all it takes. Susan Louie was a high achiever who twice climbed the corporate ladder over a 25-year career. She lived what seemed like a dream life – running marathons, competing in tennis and skiing, traveling on luxury yachts, and building investment properties. At age 42, Susan executed a big pivot – to gain greater flexibility to raise her boys as a single mom, she transitioned out of corporate into a role in teaching. In spite of all the success of career and parenting, one evening everything changed for Susan. She was standing in her driveway after her youngest son had moved out the last of his belongings as he headed out to create his own life. And that’s when panic struck. Susan found herself paralyzed, unable to enter her own home, terrified of being alone - despite all of her accomplishments. Now in her third career act, Susan combines her corporate and teaching backgrounds working as an executive coach – but not the kind of executive coach you would expect. Most coaches who work with leaders help them refine their leadership style and approach to managing others. Susan, on the other hand, helps her executive clients go on an internal journey to get to the root of stress responses which can stand in the way of great leadership. <image:caption>Cavemen had it better than us Featuring: Liam Naden, Natural Success Coach "The secret to extraordinary success isn’t pushing harder - it’s unlocking the natural brilliance already within you." - Liam Naden Liam is a transformational coach who works with business owners and leaders. His pioneering coaching methods combine neuroscience, psychology, and practical strategies to help high achievers unlock their potential and live a deeply balanced, purpose-driven life. Through his work, Liam helps ambitious people unlock their brain’s full power for business, career, and personal growth. He also helps people build stronger marriages and relationships through connection, trust, and intimacy through employing his proven brain-based methods. Liam has been in it in a way most successful business people don’t experience. His journey has taken him from the heights of being a serial entrepreneur and millionaire - to losing everything and becoming homeless in his mid-40s – literally overnight. It was only as he rebuilt his life and wealth in a more fulfilling way that he discovered the missing link to true success: the correct functioning of the human brain. Today, he’s living a life a lot of people would want. I caught up with him on his yacht off the coast of Italy for this conversation. And he’s going to share with you the secret of how that worked for him, and it’s based on something he discovered about humans that happened to us about 12,000 years ago. This interview is a masterclass in natural success. Learn more about Liam’s work: Website LinkedIn YouTube Facebook Instagram Listen to Liam’s interview:</image:caption>

<image:title>Season 2/Episode 14 - Dropped the Mic - Season 2: Episode 14</image:title>
<image:caption>Dropped the Mic Featuring: Mei-Yung Lee & Cara Castellow Welcome back, Choice Wisdom! I say “welcome back” because…well, it’s been a bit since I published a podcast episode. Basically, I dropped the mic. But not in the sense that I had something profound to say and it was time to exit the stage on that high note. The reality of what happened was a bit different. It was because I had a lot of realities I needed to sort out and choices to make to keep creating a life I wanted. I dive into that a bit in this episode, so to get the full story, please listen in! I also have the pleasure of sharing the stories of two other amazing women I interviewed before I went into podcast hiding: Mei-Yung Lee is the CEO of Ageless Zen, a skincare company founded as for-profit, but built upon a nonprofit purpose. Her dad was a Chinese medicine doctor and herbalist and when she was growing up, she told me he would always create natural remedies for the family when anyone had a cold or flu. She mentioned it would stink up the house and everything was bitter to drink, but it always provided the cure. And it instilled her a belief in the power of natural healing. Cara Castellow is a State Farm agent in Ennis, Texas and a force of nature herself, especially in her dual-life role as founder & president of Cara Caters, a nonprofit feeding schoolchildren across her community. Since its founding, it has provided more than 35,000 meals to food-insecure kids in her community. Among us, we share what it takes to commit to more than one passion and find peace and joy in all of it. <image:title>Season 3/Episode 1 - All The Things - Season 3: Episode 1</image:title>
<image:caption>All The Things Featuring: Gayle Goodman Lynch and Louisa Garrett “All the things.” That’s a direct quote from Louisa in this episode, when we talked about how she’s showing up on social media - spreading a message of kindness – each and every day for the past EIGHT YEARS. She’s everywhere – Facebook, Insta, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, YouTube. And now, she’s spreading her kindness through Choice Wisdom as co-host! This was just the level up the podcast needed! When she said, “all the things,” it was about the channels where she shows up in kindness with her daily videos. But it’s also a great statement about where we’re taking Choice Wisdom this season: we are going to explore all the “things” that create the lives we want. And by things, that’s really choices – but how do we make great choices? In this episode, we share about ourselves, our journeys, and many things we’ve learned about being the most authentic you so that you can operate from your true default setting – and that’s JOY. By sharing our take on this topic, along with various guests who also want to share their wisdom, we are covering exactly what a life of power and purpose looks like – and – more important – how you create that life from the inside out through your thoughts and choices. Of course, we’ll laugh a lot, too. Because that’s kinda what Louisa and Gayle do together. <image:title>Season 3/Episode 2 - Judgment Day - Season 3: Episode 2</image:title>
<image:caption>Judgment Day Featuring: Gayle Goodman Lynch and Louisa Garrett Judgment is easy. We do it all the time. We judge people’s choices. We judge their reactions and the way they live their lives. Sometimes we even convince ourselves we are helping when we point out what they should do differently. But judgment starts to look different when you slow down and take a closer look. In this Choice Wisdom podcast, Louisa and Gayle talk about something that shows up everywhere in our lives...the stories we carry about what people “should” do. Yet, when we can see ourselves in the attacks we launch on others, it changes the game. Noticing that changes the conversation. It shifts the focus from blame to awareness. It creates space for a little more grace for ourselves, and the people around us. We share our very honest conversation about it in this episode. Nothing was off limits. And we challenge you to simply notice when you point the finger, then gently notice the four fingers that point back at you. And then forgive yourself and see what happens.
